Bush Highlights Tal Afar as Example of Progress in Iraq???????

“[I]n this city we see the outlines of the Iraq that we and the Iraqi people have been fighting for, a free and secure people who are getting back on their feet, who are participating in government and civic life, and who have become allies in the fight against the terrorists,”
President G. W. Bush

In an incredible release from the State Dept. today, President Bush touted the town of Tal Afar, in Iraq, as

“the Iraq that we and the Iraqi people have been fighting for, a free and secure people who are getting back on their feet, who are participating in government and civic life, and who have become allies in the fight against the terrorists.”

Yet in a horrible stream of pictures above, the BBC shows the unfolding events as a stark contrast to Bubble Boy' strange Nirvana. What in the hell is going on here? Can these people never get a story straight? The stream of pictures shows a family in a car confronted by US troops and the parents are killed, the kids are bloodied, and no Iraqi "Police " anywhere! I don't get it!? In the release Bush says

"You see a police force that better reflects the ethnic and religious diversity of the communities they patrol."

I see US troops struggling to hold ground, struggling so hard that we are still having to shoot 'suspicious vehicles', no matter who's inside! This is not a fault of the brave troops deployed in Tal Afar, it is the fault of the Fairy Godmother approach to intel that we are obviously taking! WTF!

“You see that the terrorists who once exercised brutal control over every aspect of your city have been killed or captured or driven out or put on the run. You see your children going to school and playing safely in the streets."

I see a bloody little girl with no parents anymore because we do not have one iota of a grip on 'terrorists! This is infuriating! I'm pissed! I can not believe we are still so f 'ing out of touch here, that Bushy is so daft that he would use a city like Tal Afar on the 21st as a "ray of hope" when journalists reported this scene on tape only two months ago! Holy Intellegent Design! Who designed this guy who can't even read the news, much less hire someone who can, or God forbid...talk to his troops and leaders over there before eating his damn shoe!?!?!?!?!?

"Tal Afar today is “a city that is coming back to life,” he said."

I'm not making this shit up! Read for yourself.

"Tal Afar was one of the first tests of the new strategy, and Bush said the first step in its implementation was meeting with tribal leaders and local residents to listen to their grievances. That meeting resulted in the building of “a professional police force that all sides could have confidence in.”

Please excuse me while I throw up.

For those of you who read my blog from time to time, you know I don't swear in this forum, but forgive today I can't help myself on this.
